I am an artist living in Vermont. I am a painter, mainly of landscapes and still life. I find that when one spends a lot of time studying objects in a still life setup, the matter of design often comes to mind. I also have had a fascination with how things work, and have made all kinds of things, from knitwear to a six-foot diameter wood-fired bake oven (this last was the basis of our family's living for thirty years). So an interest in design has been in the background for me, and I'm glad to be taking this course* for a more theoretical and more broad experience of the subject.
